What is Loyalty to You?

What is Loyalty to You?

Many people confuse loyalty with their emotional state. Their level of loyalty depends on how their hormones are doing that day. People tend to use this expression: “I like you all so much, did you know that you, your wife and kids are important to us…,” but after saying this they begin to speak these words: “…but we’re leaving,” “we like you all but…”. Throughout these three decades we’ve heard over and over again these confused emotional expressions. The truth is that the Bible never says that God likes us, it confirms that God loves us. A person that loves will never hurt you. You must know that there’s a great chasm between liking and loving.

This is real love—not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. (1 John 4:10 NLT)

Did you know that loyalty is associated with faithfulness? Both of them walk together; one cannot exist without the other. They both have a symbiotic relationship; one feeds off of the other.

It’s good to know that a faithful person will never turn their back on you in attitude, thought or deeds; and will not allow for anyone to talk badly in your presence, and specially in your absence. A loyal person will never breach or overstep these principles we just numbered.

The Lord is seeking for people that are loyal to God, to the divine principles, to their family, their pastors, to their church community, and to God’s vision for their priestly household. He does nothing out of mere coincidence, everything He does is for a cause and reason.

If you’re reading this devotional, it’s because God wants for you to be faithful until He calls you to His presence. True loyalty goes beyond time and distances.

A loyal person will always receive their reward from the Lord Jesus in this life and in the coming life.

“But you are those who have continued with Me in My trials.29 And I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me. (Luke 22:28-29 NKJV)

Pillars that support a loyal person:

1) Loyalty identifies so you can occupy a place at the priestly household, in your local church.

For a church to leave a mark in the city where God placed it, it needs of faithful workers; loyal to God, to their pastor and their local church. Being loyal drives you to exercise loyalty and transparency with God, with your pastor and community.

Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. (1 Corinthians 4:2 NKJV)

2) Loyalty protects you from the spirit of division.

I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose. 11 For some members of Chloe’s household have told me about your quarrels, my dear brothers and sisters. 12 Some of you are saying, “I am a follower of Paul.” Others are saying, “I follow Apollos,” or “I follow Peter,” or “I follow only Christ.”

13 Has Christ been divided into factions? Was I, Paul, crucified for you? Were any of you baptized in the name of Paul? Of course not!  (1 Corinthians 1:10-13 NLT)

Many people pray for the dangers found outside; that’s good, but here we can observe how the Scriptures warn us that the dangers of division or disloyalty come from within and not from outside. If the church, the family and team is as a closed fist, then the spirit of division will never be able to carry out it’s task of destruction. Loyalty is the repellent that makes disloyal people never come close to you and your loved ones.

The Apostle Paul speaks to us about the riches that unity and loyalty produce in Philippians 2:2 (NLT):

Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

3) Loyalty empowers you for your assignment.

In loyalty and faithfulness we find the open secret in the Bible to undo the works of the enemy and to empower your team in your family, church, university, and at work in order to reach the vision that was given to me by God.

Have you been able to work as a team with your schoolmates, church and so on?

Do you have things in your heart that irritate you and cloud your vision?

Then fix that situation with utmost urgency with that person and with God! When you do so, you’ll find your healing, deliverance and blessing.

If we don’t manage to become one in the power of loyalty, faithfulness and unity, then we won’t be anything more than just a group of people with good intentions, but we won’t affect anyone.

I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. (John 17:21 NLT)

4) Loyalty will open up for us the gates of eternity.

We have to engrave in our heart that as faithful workers we shall be witnesses of the power of God here and now and also in eternity. Remaining loyal to Christ Jesus will cause for our entire household to be saved.

They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.” (Acts 16:31 NLT)

The Lord’s loyalty is very powerful, right my brothers and sisters? But God teaches us that there is still more. The reward will be even greater. God will reward us here on earth as well as in heaven. Let’s rejoice with what the Word of God tells us in Matthew 25:21 (NLT):

“The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!”’

My beloved, let’s do a self-evaluation: On a scale from 1 through 10, how is your loyalty and faithfulness to the Lord, your family and church?

PRAYER: I pray to the Lord that all the things that bring us excess weight are removed, so they don’t interrupt our pilgrimage nor leave us stranded halfway down our road. I rebuke all legacy of disloyalty that you may have received in your life as spiritual, bodily and emotional inheritance in the Name of Jesus Christ. I establish over your life, family, projects, and ministry the power of the Person of the Holy Spirit to be free, happy, prosperous, and blessed in all areas of life; empowering you to reach, deliver, restore, heal, and lead the souls around you. I bless you in the body, soul and spirit in Christ Jesus, believing that good things are coming for all those who take this word, amen, amen and amen!
