Why Do We Stop Doing What We Should Do?

How many in your home are not saved? How many family members or friends that surround you don’t know that there is a Savior, Jesus Christ?

Many Christians love the Lord with all their heart, but they don’t even realize that life passes them by without marking anyone’s heart with the love of Christ Jesus. Of course, that marking their heart with the love of Jesus means sharing with them the Good News of the Gospel. Let’s see what the book of Acts 20:26-27 tells us; surely it will help us take awareness of preaching about Jesus at all times.

I declare today that I have been faithful. If anyone suffers eternal death, it’s not my fault,27 for I didn’t shrink from declaring all that God wants you to know.

Wow! Paul had it clear that not keeping with the command would make it so that those people would be deprived of eternal life.

How come we don’t preach or why did we stop doing it?

1) I don’t have the ministry of “evangelizing.”

Wrong… the Bible doesn’t say that we must have the ministry of the evangelist in order to do this. All of us have the gift of sharing with boldness what God has done in our life.

“No, go back to your family, and tell them everything God has done for you.”So he went all through the town proclaiming the great things Jesus had done for him.(Luke 8:39 NLT)

2) Because we’re afraid that they might laugh at us.

Many of us because we haven’t been taught to practice this as part of the culture of a born-again believer. Others because of the “what will they say.” Because my home is already saved, and I think that that’s enough. Because the believers that I hang with, none of them are in that “trend” of doing it. Well, let’s see what Paul tells us.

Yet preaching the Good News is not something I can boast about. I am compelled by God to do it.How terrible for me if I didn’t preach the Good News!(1 Corinthians 9:16 NLT)

3) Because we have forgotten where Christ rescued us from.

Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!(Matthew 10:8 NLT)

This reminds me of a person that we met in San Diego, California. This person was undocumented, but one day, God in His grace allows her to receive the so yearned for American residency. From then onward her spiritual life changed, she stopped serving at church, she would leave her underage children uncared for, because now it was time to have fun and go to Mexico because of all the decades that she couldn’t leave the country. Her vision had changed for ill. Now she even thought that those that didn’t have papers bothered or perturbed the country. Wow! This was not the person we had known. Many Christians forget where Christ rescued them from; from sin, perdition, loneliness, sicknesses, occultism, and so on. Feel compassion for the lost again. Take on the responsibility and the task of going out of your comfort zone to say to them that Jesus loves them.

May God bless all of you. Thank you for sharing this message with many brothers and sisters, that feel a void in their heart for having stopped doing what we were sent to do.

Then he said to them, “Go into all the worldand preach the gospel to all creation.(Mark 16:15 CSB)
