It’s Not Enough to Just Move Forward

It’s Not Enough to Just Move Forward.

People tend to say, “I’ve gone to church, but nothing happened in my life.” It’s good to know that it’s not enough to just move forward, it’s also necessary to obey in order to see the hand of God in our life and family. What are you willing to do in order to see a change in your life? I beg the Lord that in your decisions you place God first and foremost in your plans.

And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. (Mark 12:30 NLT)

If you move forward without obeying, then you’ll just go around in circles and you’ll find yourself in the same place. Many people only go around in circles without moving forward toward their assignment for their life.

But Samuel replied,

“What is more pleasing to the Lord:
your burnt offerings and sacrifices
or your obedience to his voice?
Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice,
and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.
 (Read 1 Samuel 15:22 NLT)

Let us reflect:

Exodus 14:13-16 says:

But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. 14 The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”

15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! 16 Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground.

Exodus 14:29-31 NLT

But the people of Israel had walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, as the water stood up like a wall on both sides. 30 That is how the Lord rescued Israel from the hand of the Egyptians that day. And the Israelites saw the bodies of the Egyptians washed up on the seashore. 31 When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that the Lord had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled with awe before him. They put their faith in the Lord and in his servant Moses.

Israel, the God’s chosen nation, had a great and enormous undertaking: to face down the spirits of fear and confusion. Israel had to (without delay) obey God as Creator and only Author of all that is created; and to also obey Moses, who was their pastor, authority, the man of the vision to overcome their obstacles.

To come out of the desert they had to:

1) Believe in the strategy… that they were receiving through Moses, even if it was totally illogical to cross over the sea.

To press onward in spite of what we’re seeing.

For we walk by faith, not by sight. (Read 2 Corinthians 5:7 CSB)

Are you ready to live a life in victory as God sees you?

Then you’ll have to start to march, this means to move onward.

2) Believe in the Word of God.

The order is for you to march, it’s time to take action! Moses didn’t question God, he only extended his staff just as God told him to; when he did so, the Creator parted open the sea. Just obey, God will do the rest.

Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord. (Read Luke 1:45 NKJV)

3) Obey the Lord’s anointed.

Israel could’ve remained at the shore quivering because of the spirits of fear and confusion, but they decided to obey so they could later move forward. When you decide to have a leader or mentor of God, you’ll be able to move toward the goal.

And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ. (1 Corinthians 11:1 NLT)

Thank you for lending me of your valuable time. The fact that you’re reading this devotional tells me that you are hungry for the Lord. I bless you in the body, soul and spirit. I declare that you’ll move forward in obedience unto the Lord.

Bear hugs to all!
